Twaweza's host organisation Hivos congratulates ShujaazFM, a multimedia project supported by Twaweza, on receiving OneWorld's 2011 Special Media Award for using media to make a difference in the lives of millions of Kenyan youth. Shujaaz combines 600,000 monthly free comics, daily radio programmes, social media and text messaging to inspire and motivate young Kenyans to take action to improve their lives and engage with urgent practical issues that shape their future.
