Uwezo Uganda piloted the Uwezo Learning Assessment in four refugee hosting districts of Adjumani, Arua, Isingiro and Yumbe and generated data on learning outcomes (literacy and numeracy) in both refugee and non-refugee settlements for children aged 6-16. The pilot sought to address the dearth of robust independent monitoring data on the impact of educational interventions in emergency contexts.
A survey tool and set of assessment tasks were developed for literacy and numeracy and they were successfully applied in refugee settlements and host communities to assess the learning outcomes of children in these areas.

The report from the assessment will be released in the next month.
